CBSE CTET July 2023 Examination Eligibility Criteria Code Details

CTET Primary Level (Class I to V) Eligibility Criteria
|

For a 2-year Diploma in Primary Education:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks.

To meet NCTE 2002 norms for teaching classes I to V:
- Secondary Junior Education (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks.
- In the final year of a 2-year Certificate in Elementary Education.

To be eligible for teaching grades 1 to 5, including Special Education:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
- In the final year of a 2-year Certificate in Education (Special Education).

To become a teacher for classes I to V:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
- In the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Education (B.El.Ed) in Elementary Education.

If you have a B.Ed from an NCTE-accredited institution:
- You are eligible, but you must complete a mandatory six-month bridge course in elementary education recognized by the NCTE within two years of appointment as an elementary teacher.

To be eligible for a teaching post in classes I to V with postgraduate qualifications:
- At least 55% marks or equivalent grades in your postgraduate degree.
- Completion of three years of a combination of B.Ed.-M.Ed programs.

CTET Junior Level (Class VI to VIII) Eligibility Criteria with Code

- You need a Bachelor’s degree and be in the final year of a 2-year basic education diploma.
- Eligibility requires a minimum of 50% marks in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and being in the final year of your B.Ed program.
- Graduating with a minimum of 45% marks and complying with NCTE norms is necessary, along with completing a 1-year B.Ed program.
- You must have a minimum of 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) and be in the final year of a 4-year B.El.Ed in Primary Education.
- For a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed program, you need at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) and be in the final year.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and completion of a 1-year B.Ed or B.Ed special education program is required.
- Candidates who have completed a NCTE-recognized B.Ed program are eligible for the TET/CTET exam. Additionally, individuals pursuing teacher education courses recognized by NCTE or RCI as per TET guidelines are considered eligible as per the NCTE circular dated 11-02-2011.
- Eligibility criteria include completing a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grades and being in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed program.
